Program Overview
The MBA degree with a concentration in Project Management requires the completion of 48 to 61 credits depending on prior academic coursework completed by the student. It consists of four segments of courses: the prerequisites, Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3, specified below:
- The prerequisites includes four (4) courses that ensure that students coming from an academic discipline outside of business can meet the prerequisite business knowledge required before entering the core. These courses must be taken before the core and elective courses, early in the program.
- Phase I consists of nine (9) courses. These courses focus on the functional disciplines of business and organizations and provides a solid grounding in the core theories, processes and skills needed by managers in today's rapidly-changing environment.
- Phase II consists of electives and 12 credits of courses in the Project management concentration.
- Phase III of the MBA program is the synthesis and capstone phase. The course, MGMT 699 Management Strategy and Policy, calls for students to integrate what they have learned in previous courses and life experiences to form a coherent picture of management and organizations.
